Sixth Summer School on Minority Rights Held in Donja Stubica

The sixth Summer School on Minority Rights was held in Donja Stubica, Croatia, from 11 to 14 June 2026. The programme was jointly organized by the Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta and the Academic Network for Cooperation in South-East Europe.

The School brought together master’s students and young researchers from universities across the region with the aim of strengthening their knowledge of minority rights protection, the governance of ethnic and cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and contemporary challenges to social cohesion.

Lectures and workshops were delivered by distinguished scholars and experts, including Goran Bašić, Milorad Pupovac, Ružica Jakešević, Siniša Tatalović, Dejan Jović, and Čedomir Višnjić… Through lectures and discussions, participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and examine minority issues from a variety of theoretical, legal, and political perspectives.

A special contribution to the development of the Summer School has been made by Professor Siniša Tatalović, who initiated this programme six years ago and has since worked tirelessly to ensure its continuity and further development. Thanks to his dedication, the Summer School has grown into a recognized regional platform bringing together students, academics, and researchers interested in minority rights and the management of diversity.

The Academic Network for Cooperation in South-East Europe considers investment in the education of young professionals and the creation of spaces for dialogue among future academic, social, and political leaders to be one of the most important contributions to building open, democratic, and inclusive societies. The sixth Summer School on Minority Rights once again confirmed the value of regional cooperation and academic exchange in advancing these goals.
